Brett Bad has always had a thing for Sophie, he flirts with her constantly. Brett doesn’t want to settle down and Sophie definitely wants to settle down. It was interesting to watch these two try to navigate what was supposed to have been one night and then it becomes more than one night and when feelings start developing for both of them, then it starts getting interesting. I really enjoyed watching Brett and Sophie and their interactions and how Sophie is such a good influence on him as being his friend and possibly more and helping him deal with his guilt and the ghosts he carries from Lorelei’s death. It was so fun when he joined her with her family for her grandparents anniversary party. He was just at home in a small town as he is in a big city. Nana and Poppi definitely are two people I’d love to meet and hang out with, just remember to lock the door or Nana will come barging in. This book was definitely sexy but also touching and romantic at the same time. The trip with Sophie back to her home town was definitely the turning point for these two. Once they were back in the city Brett wanted to find closure especially with his father, which in turn ended up helping not only Brett but his brothers as well. The ending of this book was great with all the additions coming down the road. Loved it! This has definitely become one of my favorite books from Melissa.

Bad Boys After Dark Brett was the fourth and final book in the Bad Boys series by Melissa Foster. It was also the eighth book in her Billionaires After Dark series and the fiftieth book in her Love in Bloom series. I love how she continued to interconnect the various series.

Brett Bad was the last Bad brother to fall. He was gorgeous, successful and the ultimate playboy. He had been crazy over his brother, Mick’s, beautiful, smart and feisty assistant, Sophie Roberts, for quite a while but she wanted forever and he only had one night to give.

It was the quintessential chase, cave in moment, and now they want more scenario. I loved “forever kisses.” Foster depicted them well and the concept was incredibly romantic. Although it was fairly predictable, it was still well written, fun, sweet and entertaining. It was a journey of acceptance, forgiveness and love. It was also a refreshing change from the dark themes I have been reading lately.

All in all, it was a quick, light hearted and good feels book. Although it completed the Bad series, I would love a novella for the parents. It would fill in some of the details and be a great way to come full circle for the series.

Lastly, Foster brought the families of Oak Falls front and center in preparation for the next spin off Love in Bloom series. They are a colorful bunch and I can’t wait. We are gifted with Sophie’s best friend, Grace Montgomery, first in Embracing Her Heart. Bring it on!
I enjoyed this book for the most part. I thought Brett and Sophie made a great couple and I really enjoyed the way they played off one another. I also like that the story addressed more of the issues that the Bad brothers had with their father. I felt like the other books (while good) didn't address it as much and was confused as to exactly what the status of their relationship was.

The only complaint I had was the amount of time the characters visiting Sophie's hometown of Oak Falls, Virginia. I liked how it progressed their relationship and caused Brett to think about things, but I just felt they were there way too long. I get that it's mostly to set up the new series that takes place there, but it just felt so cluttered with all the family members, extra supporting characters, and backstories. I would have been fine if they had only stayed there for just one or two chapters, not an entire third of the book.

With that being said, I will read the new series when it does come out. It just felt as though it was overpowering this one.
Grief affects everyone differently & can cause the strongest of adults to crumble. When it involves a young child, it tears everyone's lives apart. Bad Boys After Dark follows the four Bad brothers as they try to come to terms with lingering feelings of loss, grief & anger after their sister died years ago & tore their family apart.

I have to say, I love Brett! He appears to have everything. He's rough, tough & irresistible to all women. Well, except for Sophie. Brett is the king of one night stands & short term relationships. He will NOT commit to anything longer. For reasons only Brett knows (& you find out in the book!), Brett is afraid of giving too much of himself.

Sophie works for Brett's brother. She's attracted to him & it doesn't help that they are constantly thrown together through work. She knows better than to give into the attraction though. She's seen all of the women Brett goes through & she doesn't want to be another in the long line. She's determined to get her happy ending.

This book has it all. I laughed at parts. I cried. The grief of the family left behind came through Melissa Foster's masterful dialogue to grab the reader's heart & emotions. The interactions between Brett & Sophie were full of snark, sass & tense attraction turning to tenderness & affection. The interactions between Brett & his brothers were at times hilarious & at other times, supportive & emotional. Brett & Sophie actually bring out the best in each other. Brett forces Sophie out of her comfort zone & to take risks while Sophie shows Brett that emotions are good things & that he needs to deal with his. This was a very powerful romance & one I will be reading over & over!
