The second book in the trilogy was not any different from the first book. The same grammatical errors makes for frustrated reading. The saga continues and I felt like it was heading into an unnecessary storyline and plot twists that were hard to swallow.
I mentioned in the first book review that Molly was acting bipolar. After reading book two, I feel like everyone was acting bipolar and starting to sound like they all belonged on the Jerry Springer Show! Way too many complicated and unnecessary plot twists! For example, the mention of Mr. Weber. Really? What happened to confidentiality?? Drake didn't need to end up in the hospital. And the crazy ex girlfriend. I can't stop the eye rolling at these wacky twists. I should have had a few seizures by now! LOL
I just couldn't believe that someone living in a penthouse has zero security and anyone can stroll in unnoticed and create havoc whenever they feel like it! Not to mention that Molly didn't know there was a housekeeper. Did she think little elves or fairies came in to clean a bachelor's penthouse? Again not believable and it wasn't necessary to mention that.
just wanted to mention that Chicago is flat and there are no hills. Yet towards the end, Molly is meeting Drake at Millenium Park. Drake is on a hill (?) with the sunset behind him. If Molly was walking from the river to Millenium park she would not be facing west because she was coming from the west going east to Millenium Park!!! Please get the facts straight or don't mention the direction they were facing urghhhh!!!
Also, it makes Molly look like a moron (not the first time) when at the end she realizes she missed two months of birth control. Really? Who does that? you can forget a day or two, but TWO whole freaking months??? That is just absurd. I don't care how busy or crazy life is. A woman just doesn't forget birth control for two months. Speaking of which, it is explained that Molly was taking birth control since her daughter was born. Why?? Molly was not dating anyone for over four years, while she was grieving for Liam. Why bother with birth control if one isn't sexually active?? Again, details like this that makes the story unbelievable. I did a lot of my own eye rolling reading the two books!
One crazy ex-girlfriend was bad. Two crazy ex-girlfriends was too much to accept. Also, it was unnecessary to use the name Liam for the little boy. It was just too weird (more eye rolling). Speaking of crazy girlfriend, Violet is described as wearing only shorts and a tank top when Drake meets her at her hotel room. A few paragraphs later, she takes off her sweater and is wearing a tight T-shirt. This was another eye-rolling moment! Need I say more? consistency was lacking and it made reading the book frustrating.
It's a good story minus the lack of editing that could make this a really good book. I will continue to read books by this author because I know the potential she has from reading "The Intern" trilogy that I absolutely loved.

Kitchen Scandals The Riverside Trilogy Book 2 edition by Brooke Cumberland Librum Artis Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews
Brooke is an absolute genius! She had my blood thrumming through every single page of this book. This is the second novel in the Riverside series and continues on with Molly and Drake’s story. To recap Drake is a fabulous business man, hot and rich. He’s hit a lull in the dating scene since no one really sees him for himself, all they see is money. And then he lays eyes on Molly Woods, he just can’t resist her pull.
Molly is a single mother who lost her ex to a car accident years ago. She’s studying Culinary Arts and would love to work at the Riverside restaurant. When she meets Drake there is an instant attraction, but he rubs her the wrong way. But, she can’t help but be pulled in to his charm and persistence.
Kitchen Scandals picks up where Kitchen Affairs left off, where the first was tentative, sexual and needful Scandals is in your face, sexual, and drama filled. Both Molly and Drake are in for many surprises, some are expected others, not so much.
Drake has things he has yet to tell Molly, he’s worried when she finds out, they’ll be finished. He couldn’t live with that, she is his world, his heart, his everything.
Molly also had secrets she’d rather keep buried, no one knows about them. Not even her closest best-friend Michael. She put that behind her and that’s where she wants it to stay buried.
Unfortunately for both of them, skeletons tend to come out of the closet at the worst of times. It may seem like the world is against them, pushing until they break. Both have trust in each other and while the brick may crumble, it will never fall.
Drake and Molly are each other’s anchors, their life-lines. Kitchen Scandals has so many twists and turns it will make your head spin! I was literally shocked speechless on numerous occasions, not knowing what will happen until the very last second. And by the last second, I mean like five words before hand. I was utterly shocked and horrified. At some points I just thought to myself, why? How? What-the-eff?! Even though I loathe some of the characters, this series would not be the same without them. Some series you have the same plot-lines and characters over and over; it gets boring. But, The Riverside series will keep your attention all the way through. Each book has a different plot line, introduces us to different issues and characters, I love it.
If you’re a fan of drama, some suspense, plot twists and lots of hot steamy sex; you will love Kitchen Scandals.
